Dora Martin

Dora E. Martin, of Star Meadow, west of Whitefish, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Jan. 12, 2009, as the result of a sudden stroke while visiting her son Michael and his wife Sandy in Yakima, Wash.

Dora was born Sept. 4, 1921, in Kensal, N.D. to Ferdinand and Louise (Braasch) Wolsky. She graduated from Kensal High School and soon moved to Seattle, where she worked and stayed with her sister Esther and her husband Cameron Vosper.

While in Seattle, Dora met Capt. Clarence S. Martin, M.D., and on March 13, 1946, they were married. They moved to Kensal and later to Medina, N.D., where they provided 36 years of medical service in Stutsman County. They retired to Star Meadow in fall 1984. Clarence (Doc) died on April 17, 2002. Dora remained at their Star Meadow home until her death.

Dora loved her Savior, family and church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, her brother Edward Wolsky (Kensal) and her grandson Aaron Martin.

Dora is survived by sons Jonathan and wife Alice, of Great Falls, Timothy and wife Irene, of Whitefish, Michael and wife Sandy, of Yakima, Wash., and Peter and wife Stacie, of Scottsdale Ariz.; daughter Tamara Martin, of Butte; sisters Minna Stober, of Renton, and Esther McCartney, of Mesa, Ariz.; brother Ferdinand Wolsky, of Kent, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Dora’s memorial service will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 201 Wisconsin Avenue, in Whitefish, on July 10, 2009, at 10 a.m. with interment of her ashes at 3 p.m. in the family cemetery in Star Meadow.

Preferred memorials are to St. Peter Lutheran Church.
