Mat Cats fall to Polson, 42-30

Columbia Falls was outscored by Polson 42-30 in a Northwestern A Conference wrestling dual Thursday (Jan. 15) in Polson.

Picking up wins by fall for the Mat Cats were Sal Baccaro (98 pounds), John Woody (160), Will Joubert (171) and Kelly Houle (215). Winning by decision were Justin Whitman (105) and Russell Plevel (145).

In the most exciting action of the evening, Randy Kelley of Polson won a 4-3 triple-overtime decision over Mat Cat Shawn Whitman.

The Mat Cat varsity wrestles in the Rocky Mountain Classic Friday and Saturday (Jan. 15-16) at Sentinel High School in Missoula. The CFHS JV team competes in the Big Sky Invitational, also in Missoula.
