Columbia Falls boys top Ronan 69-47 in Divisional opener

Five players scored in double figures, leading Columbia Falls to a 69-47 boys victory over Ronan in the first round of the Northwestern A Divisional Basketball Tournament on Thursday afternoon at Glacier High School. The Wildcats vaulted to a quick 15-2 lead and held an advantage of 23 points late in the third period. Mackey Nolan led the Wildcats with 14 points. Kyle Howell added 13, Austin Barth 11, and Mitchell Wassam and Grant Getts 10 each. Nolan Harris was the top scorer for the Chiefs with 11 points.

Columbia Falls was pitted against rival Whitefish at 2 p.m. Friday in the semifinals at GHS. The top-seeded Bulldogs go into the tourney with a 12-game win streak.

In girls tourney action, top-seeded Columbia Falls was scheduled to face the Polson-Whitefish winner at 6 p.m. Friday in the semifinals at GHS.
