Bulldogs pile up conference awards

Five Bulldog football players were elected to the Northwest A all-conference first team.

On the offensive side of the ball, acknowledgements went to Tyson Ferda for his play at tackle, Daniel Simmons for his work at tailback and Willie Roche for his efforts at wide receiver.

Simmons was the team's leading rusher, racking up 961 yards and 56 points.

Willie Roche caught 21 passes for 448 yards, the third most in the league. He also brought in 10 touchdowns.

On defense, noseguard Derek Crittenden was given the nod, as was cornerback Kalin Hale.

Hale had three interceptions on defense. He also brought in 238 yards receiving and one touchdown.

Second team elections went to tight end Connor Silliker, fullback Derek Crittenden, quarterback Mac Roche, defensive end Tanner Benedict and cornerback Willie Roche.

Mac Roche was the league's third-leading passer with 1,241 yards through the air.

Honorable mentions were handed to guard Nathan Wiedenmeyer, tackle Maxl Smith, tailback Benedict and noseguard Orrin Dugan.
