Loves town as is

Next time I have to take the pickup or the van downtown, I’ll probably just drive the darn thing on to the stores where I can park close and not have to worry about punching a hole in another vehicle when I back out of my parking space. All you folks who drive a larger rig, go park off the main street ‘cuz a bunch of downtown merchants don’t want your outfits parked in front of their stores.

They said at City Council they are interested in all those outsiders having a nice wide sidewalk to browse around on. Those people need more room, darn it.

Us folks who live here year around and like to shop in Whitefish, go to the Bulldog for a beer, pick up a prescription at the drugstore, stop for a bite at the six or more eateries, get a big old diamond from Sam, or Eric or Stephen. (Those mentioned do not want the new design.) Well, you’d just better drive your rigs that need more room somewhere that makes it convenient to spend your money.

Us folks that love the looks of Whitefish, and thought Big Mountain was a great name, who always thought our voices counted, and thought the Mayor and City Council would do a good job for us, were told “they” know better what’s good for us. Word around is only about five merchants of the main drag coerced the rest to go along with them for the changes.

If you read last week’s Pilot, you know that most of the city’s maintenance workers, the former Mayor, city engineers and 614 petitioners, plus hundreds who didn’t get to sign the petition, DO NOT WANT to narrow Central Avenue.

Thanks food bank

I would like to thank the North Valley Food Bank for the special Easter dinner they delivered to the residents at the Mountain View Manor the day before Easter.

It was so thoughtful of them. Whitefish should be proud of this wonderful, caring organization.
