The Columbia Falls Lions Club meets at 6:30 a.m. on the first and third Thursdays each month at the Back Room, in the same building as the Nite Owl Restaurant. Contact a Lions Club member for information about joining the organization.

West Glacier Elementary will hold a public forum today, April 16 at 5:30 p.m. The topic is consideration of adding a 7th and 8th grade program to the school and going to a four-day week. The forum will be held at the school.

The Shops at Station 8 will host the monthly Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours is April 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. Station 8 is located at 38 U.S. Highway 2 East. There will be lots of appetizers, wine and other beverages. Music will be provided by Jonathan Jenkins, who was the winner in the local Colgate Country Showdown.

Reverse mortgages will be the topic for a First American Title Brown Bag Series event today (Thursday,) from noon to 1 p.m. in the Freedom Bank community room. Dave Boye of Mountain Lake Mortgage will be the guest speaker and talks about reverse mortgages being a growing market. There is no charge to attend and you’re invited to bring lunch with you. Glacier Gateway Elementary’s fourth-grade classes present a musical, “The Adventures of Lewis and Clark” on Friday, April 24 at 1:45 p.m. in the Little Theater at Columbia Falls High School. A complimentary reception for students, parents and guests will follow. The 35-minute program will feature students singing eight choreographed numbers. The adventures are viewed through the eyes of Cassie, a very precocious student.

On Monday, April 20, the Flathead County Motor Vehicles office staff will be providing very limited service due to final preparations for deployment of the new MERLIN system on April 21. No title work or registration renewals will be performed. Transactions will resume April 21.

Wednesday

The Kiwanis Club, Key Club and Builder’s Club of Columbia Falls will all be joining forces to do a garbage clean-up around town Wednesday, April 22. Anyone interested in joining the groups for this community service project should meet at 4:30 p.m. in front of Columbia Falls High School.
