Whitefish Theatre Company invites Flathead Valley senior residents and community members with disabilities to a free concert by the Gospel Hummingbirds on Saturday, April 18, from 3-4 p.m. at the O’Shaughnessy. There will be ample seating for persons with wheelchairs and walkers, and hearing-assistance devices are available. Free transportation will also be provided on request. Flathead Valley Community College’s Logger Sports Team will host its annual home competition, Stumpjumper Days, on Saturday, April 18, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the FVCC Logger Sports Arena on the college’s Kalispell campus. Sixty-five students from four colleges and universities in the northwest region, including the University of Montana, University of Idaho, Colorado State University and FVCC will compete in various events such as axe throw, horizontal hard hit chop, obstacle pole buck, single buck and bonzaii logger. FVCC has hosted the annual competition since 1972, with the exception of 2006 when the new logger sports arena was under construction. Admission is free. A concessions stand will be on site, and food and beverages will be available for purchase.

The Whitefish United Methodist Church, 1150 Wisconsin Avenue, will hold an all-church rummage sale on Saturday, April 18, from 8 a.m. to noon. All proceeds will benefit the Whitefish United Methodist Church’s principal mortgage fund. The second annual GrizzlyMan Adventure Race will take place Saturday, April 18, at the Lubrecht Experimental Forest and The Resort at Paws Up, east of Missoula. Racers must be proficient in mountain biking, trail running, paddling, map reading and navigation and expect to run or trek about 10-12 miles, paddle four miles of no more than Class II whitewater, and mountain bike roughly 20 miles while navigating to various checkpoints. Alpine Kids! Theatre Project will present Disney’s “High School Musical” at the Whitefish Middle School auditorium on Sunday through Tuesday, April 19-21,with shows at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The stage production, directed by Betsi Morrison and Luke Walrath, is based on the Disney Channel original movie “High School Musical.” Alpine Kids! Theatre Project is an educational outreach program aimed at giving local students a hands-on theater education through performance. Tickets are $15 adults, $12 students and $7 children under-12.

Flathead Audubon will lead a bird-watching trip to Smith Lake Waterfowl Production Area on April 19.
