The Kalispell Area Music Teachers Association (KAMTA) will hold their April meeting and program on Friday, April 3, at Bethel Baptist Church, 936 Fourth Avenue West, in Kalispell. DePratu Ford will donate $20 to Whitefish High School for every person who simply test-drives a new Ford vehicle on Friday and Saturday, April 3 and 4, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. All told, DePratu Ford will donate up to $6,000 to the high school and the high school's booster club through Ford Motor Co.'s Drive One 4 UR School program. Since the program began in 2007, a total of 208 Drive One 4 UR School events have been held nationwide, raising more than $750,000.

Saturday

The Glacier Institute will offer the popular course  Owls of the Mission Valley: Hoots and Haunts on Saturday and Sunday, April 4-5, led by celebrated owl expert Denver Holt, the founder and president of the Owl Research Institute. The two-day program includes day and night field trips to learn about the habitats, adaptations for silent flight, hunting breeding and life histories of these impressive creatures. Flathead Boxing, a non-profit fitness and boxing organization, will host a USA Amateur Boxing-sanctioned boxing match and smoker at the Elks Lodge, in Kalispell, on Saturday, April 4, at 7 p.m. Flathead Valley's elite amateur boxing team will compete against other amateur boxers from Canada, Washington, Idaho and Montana. The 43rd annual Creston Auction and Country Fair and the accompanying RV, marine, auto and equipment sale will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 4 and 5, in Creston on Highway 35. The event is a fundraiser for the all-volunteer Creston Fire Department and draws more than 7000 people from the Northwest and Canada. Friday, April 3, is consignment day. MSU Extension's Equine Seminar will be held at Glacier High School on Saturday, April 4, at 9:30 a.m. The seminar includes programs designed for new and experienced horse owners as well as the youth population. Presenters from Montana State University Extension, as well as local veterinarians and horsemen, will provide information on behavior, nutrition, health care and pasture management. Topics will include backcountry packing, breeding considerations, identifying and treating lameness as well as illness, skills for youth, quality forages, nutrition, pasture management and rehabilitation, care for the special needs horse, equine massage, hoof care and considerations, and dealing with the problem horse and behavioral issues. Sunday

Big Mountain Ski Patrol will hold their annual end-of-ski-season party on Sunday, April 5, at the Great Northern Bar with music by Cocinando. The 13-member group specializes in a style of cool Latin jazz and hot salsa that's a perfect fit for the costume party's  Vegas, Baby! theme. The doors open at 8 p.m. and music continues until 1 a.m. A limited number of tickets are available from the Ski Patrol at the mountain or at the Great Northern. The $15 charge covers live entertainment and drinks.

Whitefish Theatre Company will present a Black Curtain Series reading of Well, by Lisa Kron at the O'Shaughnessy on Sunday and Monday, April 5 and 6, at 7:30 p.m. This unusual, autobiographical play about what happens when grown children return to the family homestead overturns theatrical conventions with infectious humor. Kron, who often performs in autobiographical solo shows, draws from her illness-prone, socially-activist family life. The comedy switches from the present to scenes in elementary school and the hospital allergy unit she stayed in when she was 19 to the confrontation with her mother that she's trying so hard to avoid. Tickets are $7 general admission. The play is appropriate for older students and adults.

The Glacier Stamp Club will meet Monday, April 6, at the Kalispell Library downstairs meeting room at 6:30 p.m. A short business meeting will begin promptly at 7 p.m. followed by a fun and interesting film on stamp collecting.
