Two Bigfork men die in crash

Two Bigfork-area men died early Saturday evening when their vehicle rolled over on Montana 209 near Ferndale.

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office identified them as Matthew Emslie, 27, and Sean Purcell, 26.

The vehicle was traveling west on Montana 209 shortly after 6 p.m. when it veered across the road into a ditch, where it rolled, according to the Sheriff's Office. No other vehicles were involved.

The driver, Emslie, was ejected and taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, where he was dead on arrival.

The passenger, Purcell, remained inside the vehicle and died at the scene.

Neither was wearing a seat belt, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Services for Emslie are at 3 p.m. today, Oct. 2 at Bethany Lutheran Church and services for Purcell are at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at Crossroads Christian Church.
