Glacier Nordic Club readying for winter

The Glacier Nordic Ski Club's Chet Hope Ski League is gearing up for winter with an open house at Camas Day School, 534 Pine Avenue, across from the high school, on Dec. 2 from 3:30 to 6 p.m.

The ski league offers cross-country ski lessons for children 4-and-older. Classes will be held at the Whitefish Lake Golf Course on Saturdays from 9:45 to 11:30 a.m. beginning Jan. 10. Optional ski games will take place from 11:30 a.m. to noon.

Cost is $25 for Glacier Nordic club members and $30 for nonmembers. Early registration is required. Applications are available at Sportsman & Ski Haus, The White Room and Great Northern Cycle.

The Glacier Nordic Ski Club will hold its annual potluck and auction at the Best Western Rocky Mountain Lodge in Whitefish on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m.

People are asked to bring their favorite appetizer, entree or dessert to share. For more information on the potluck, call Ellie at 250-1575.

Daily passes at the groomed cross-country ski track at Whitefish Lake Golf Course will increase this season from $5 to $8 per day. Discounted season passes are available at $40 per person or $75 per family before Dec. 6. After that, season passes will cost $45 per person and $90 per family. Passes are sold at the Outback Ski Shack.
