Vose Robertson

Vose A. Robertson, 93, died June 11, 2008, at Heritage Place in Kalispell.

He was born Jan. 13, 1914, in Kalispell, the son of Clyde "Rabbit" and Minnie (Vose) Robertson.

He spent his early years at Heart Butte, where his father was the government agent for the Blackfeet Indians. His special friend there was Peter White Man. Vose later graduated from Flathead County High School in Kalispell. After a stint in the service, he returned to Kalispell and drove a bus for the city of Kalispell.

Vose then went to work for American Timber, in Olney, and later delivered coffee to many different restaurants for Matthew-Kerr. His route was from Missoula to Bonners Ferry, Idaho. He was forced to retire because of glaucoma. He spent his retirement shoveling snow and mowing lawns for the entire neighborhood.

Vose walked to Joe's Barber Shop every day to sweep the floors and visit. He always had a piece of hard candy in his pocket for anyone he would meet.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Tracy Robertson; his brother Robert Robertson; and his sister May Jane Panick.

He his survived by his wife Verda and sister Beulah Clothier, both of Kalispell; adopted son Fred Farrell, of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews
