The Glacier all-star team earned second place at the 14-year-old Babe Ruth State Tournament earlier this month in Eureka.

After a 10-8 semifinal win over Bozeman, Glacier lost to Kootenai Valley (Eureka) 13-5 on July 13.

"We played well in all facets of the game," Glacier assistant coach Seth Carr said. "It was the best tournament we've had all year."

Glacier went 3-1 in pool play, getting wins over Hi Line, Livingston and Bozeman. The only loss was 5-4 to Kootenai Valley.

"We had good pitching and fielding," Carr said. "Eureka is a good team. We played them close all year long."

In the semifinal win, Corey Davis blasted two home runs in the same inning — the second homer a grand slam.

In a Fourth of July weekend tournament at Helena, Glacier posted a 3-2 record and finished fifth.
