CFST fifth at Shelby Invitational

The Columbia Falls Swim Team (CFST) finished fifth in the Shelby Invitational over the weekend. The Shelby Water Otters took the team title, scoring 1,217 points. Conrad was second with 677, followed by Fort Benton with 589, Cut Bank 577.5, Columbia Falls 569, Chester 441.5, Bitterroot 409, Chinook 220, Sunburst 157, Choteau 140 and Lewistown 89.

A highlight for the CFST was provided by Colton Babcock. Swimming in the boys 8 & Under age group, he won high-point honors for the first time this season. Babcock won a trio of events — the 25-yard breaststroke, 25 butterfly and 100 individual medley.

Karyssa Nelson (girls 9-10) of the CFST won two events, taking honors in the 50 butterfly and 100 IM. Vincent Erickson (boys 13-14) was first in the 100 backstroke.
