Anthony Kollmann

| January 24, 2008 10:00 PM

Anthony Kollmann, 19, passed away Jan. 13, 2008, doing what he loved, extreme downhill skiing.

He was born on June 4, 1988, in Rapid City, S.D., to Robert and Laurie (Rathman) Kollmann. At a young age, Anthony moved with his family to Billings where they lived until he was five years old. Moving to Kalispell, he began his education, attending Edgerton Elementary and graduating from Flathead High School.

Anthony was a phenomenal and extreme athlete. As a member of the Big Mountain Race Team and the Big Mountain Bike Team, he was able to travel the Northwest competing. He was raised in a family that were avid campers, a characteristic he continued with his friends.

He was also frequently seen around Kalispell, shredding with his buddies on inline skates. He was blessed to have been exposed to such a full, rich life, in an amazingly short time.

After graduating, Anthony enjoyed working in excavating with Doug Thole and Mike Ludivig.

Anthony is survived by his parents, Robert and Laurie Kollmann, and sisters, Amy and Ashley, all of Kalispell; his maternal grandfather, Gene Rathman; his paternal grandmother, Gertrude Kollmann; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Jan. 19, 2008, at Risen Christ Catholic Church, with Father Rudy Bullman as celebrant. Burial took place at Glacier Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Anthony's name to the following organizations: Dialysis Clinic Fund, 135 Commons Way, Kalispell MT 59901; or Flathead Search and Rescue, 800 South Main Street, Kalispell MT 59901.
