A Martin City man is homeless after his trailer home was gutted by a fire Tuesday morning.

The fire call came in about 9:30 a.m. and when firefighters arrived at the home of Don Bilbro on Old Highway 2 it was fully engulfed.

Firemen had the blaze quickly knocked down, but Bilbro's home and all his belongings were lost.

Bilbro said he left for about 30 minutes to go to the Food Bank and suspects that an electric space heater started the fire.

Bilbro lost everything but the clothes on his back and has no place to stay. Folks wanting to help him out can call him directly at (406) 750-5231 or contact the Dam Town Tavern.

Martin City, Coram-West Glacier and Hungry Horse fire departments all responded to the blaze. Three Rivers Ambulance and Canyon QRU personnel were on standby.
