Dorothy Heil

| December 18, 2008 10:00 PM

Dorothy Allene Heil, 47, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, in Kalispell after a long battle with her illness. She was born on April 14, 1961 in Butte to Donald J. and Helen A. (Ashley) McMillan.

Dorothy was raised in Columbia Falls and was a graduate of Columbia Falls High School. She was a very caring, loving and generous person. Down to earth, Dorothy was some what “tomboyish,” a true diamond in the rough. She enjoyed many activities including arts and crafts; nature and the outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking, gardening and all animals and wildlife. Dorothy loved to spend time watching her son participate in athletics and she was a spirited fan and devoted mother.

Dorothy is survived by one son, J. D. Heil of Kalispell; parents Don and Helen McMillan of Polson; a grandson, Rylan; one sister, Deanna Lee; a niece, Leesa; and one nephew, Nathan.

A memorial service for Dorothy was held at the First United Methodist Church in Polson on Monday, Dec. 15, with Rev. Mark Calhoun officiating. The family suggests memorials may be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Colonial Place Three, 2107 Wilson Blvd., Suite 300, Arlington, VA 22201-3042 or First United Methodist Church, 301 16th Ave. E., Polson, MT 59860.
