Edna Marie Ahlefeld, 75

Edna Marie Ahlefeld passed on Sunday, November 23 after a short fight with pancreatic cancer. She was born on June 27, 1933 to George and Janice Arner in Culver City California.

She grew up in that area where she later met her husband, Earl Ahlefeld. They were married in 1952 and resided in Reseda California, where they had one daughter and later adopted one son. In 1973 the family moved to Lone Camp Texas. They lived there until Earl passed away in 2001 after 49 years of marriage. Soon after, Edna moved to Bigfork to be close to family. In her last years she was able to live with her granddaughter and her family and loved to be close to the great-grandchildren.

Edna always enjoyed being involved in the community in which she lived. In younger years she played softball and was on a bowling league and went on to learn to oil paint and make hand made wood crafts. She was on the board of her local community center in Lone Camp and made many lasting friendships there. Every year she and her friends at the community center would have the annual crafts bazaar and host a huge Easter egg hunt that was enjoyed by kids all around the area.

Edna loved animals and seemed to have a special gift for training them. The different dogs and cats she had would do what she asked not by harsh command but more by being asked to do the thing she wanted. Edna always kept an assortment of critters around her which included at times, goats, cows, donkeys, geese, chickens, doves, peacocks, and rabbits every one of them pets, which might crawl in a lap or want in the house.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband Earl and her parents, also her brother Lyn and sister Lila. She is survived by daughter Pam Reynolds and husband Bob of Bigfork, MT; son Bobby Ahlefeld and wife Debbie of Santo Texas, brother Bob and wife Paulette of North Hills, CA, granddaughter Kelly Saari and husband Brian of Bigfork, MT and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Edna requested that no funeral be held in her honor but that those who loved her may get together and reminisce, and finally, to enjoy life to the fullest.
