Marian Cullen

Former teacher and homemaker Marian L. Cullen, 87, of Great Falls died of natural causes Nov. 29, 2008, at a long-term care facility.

Marian was born March 29, 1921, in Elk Park, the daughter of Swan and Ruth (Swan) Lamberg.

After graduating from Butte High School in 1939, Marian attended Montana State College and graduated with a degree in home economics.

Marian taught at Whitehall before marrying William T. Cullen, Jr. on June 16, 1946, in Butte. In the early 1950s, they moved to Scobey, where they taught school, and later moved to Great Falls.

She was a member of Pi Beta Phi while attending Montana State College, as well as a life member of the Montana State Alumni Association. Marian volunteered many hours with RSVP, and the Visitors Information Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

She is survived by her son Thomas Cullen and wife Laurie, of Whitefish; granddaughters Holly and McCara Cullen; brother Ed Lamberg and wife Norma, of San Diego; and sister Jean Hughes and husband John, of LaJolla, Calif.
