Adopt a family with the Rotary Club

| December 4, 2008 10:00 PM

As we celebrate Thanks-giving and approach the Christmas season, I celebrate and thank the good Lord for blessing me with the ability to care for my family.

As a new resident of Whitefish and an even newer member of the Whitefish Rotary Club, I ask those whose family has been as blessed as mine to join Rotarians of Whitefish in providing a memorable Christmas experience for those children in our area whose parents, through perhaps no fault of their own, are struggling financially to the point they are unable to provide Christmas gifts for their kids.

You can help less fortunate children during the holidays by adopting a needy family. These families selected by the Rotary Club of Whitefish are carefully screened for need, and their names are kept anonymous except from our screeners and those who will actually deliver the gifts on Christmas Eve.

You can find a list of families, their number of kids, and their needs and wishes posted at Mike's Conoco in Whitefish between Nov.26 and Dec. 19 or by calling 862-6453. This is a very worthwhile project for your family, your business, or your social or professional club.

Won't you share the bounty of your plenty with those not so fortunate? Catch the real Christmas spirit by doing something so very important for a family in the valley. You will never forget the warm glow brought to your life by such action.

Thank you and Merry Christmas.
