Kids can play outside

| August 21, 2008 11:00 PM

After reading Mr. Brainard's letter "Tossed from gym," I can imagine the severe psychological damage and physical deterioration suffered by the students affected by this "toss out." The audacity of the school district to allow a group of mostly out-of-state fly-fishermen to use the gym for a meet during the summer.

What could they possibly be thinking of to allow this meeting? The school district should have taken into consideration that Whitefish has no other activities for youth in the summer, except hiking, bike riding, swimming, fishing, golf and a few other activities. Maybe the "tossed out" students could have even tried to play volleyball and basketball outdoors.

When I was growing up in Whitefish, there was no such thing as an open gym in the summer. So I know the pain and suffering caused by not having an open gym in the summer.

On behalf of former Whitefish youths who were afflicted with pain and suffering caused by not having an open gym in the summer, I am planning to file a billion dollar class action lawsuit against the school district.

Note: I was born in White-fish on May 14, 1934, and graduated from Whitefish High School in 1952. Enclosed is a picture of a 1982 Chevy S-10 Blazer I had. I still have the license plates, but the vehicle is long gone.
