Rebecca Curran Roberts

Rebecca Curran Roberts, 57, best friend, mother and grandmother, passed away July 26, 2008, at her home in Whitefish.

She was born in Battle Creek, Mich., on Sept. 22, 1950, and moved to Santa Monica, Calif., as a young girl. In 1979, she moved her son and daughter to Montana, where she resided for eight years.

Rebecca worked for the Flathead Courier in Polson then relocated to Lincoln City, Ore., for four years. She worked for Maxwell's at the coast. Then she relocated to Laughlin, Nev., for nine years.

After her husband died two years ago, she wanted to go back to Montana, where she purchased her home in Whitefish. She worked her last job at Famous Dave's in Kalispell as a waitress.

Rebecca was well loved by her friends and family. She always had a smile on her face and a great laugh to share with that smile.

She loved many people and was always there for them. Her heart was huge — even to the squirrels that she put out peanuts for, and the salt licks for the deer.

She is preceded in death by her mother Delores Goplen and her husband Brad Roberts.

Survivors include her son Tony Curran and wife Bobbie Sue, of Whitefish; daughter Carla Curran and husband David Hesselgrave, of Salem Ore.; sister Linda McGovern, of Mission Viejo, Calif.; grandchildren Glenn Thompson and Jacob Lunstedt, of Lincoln City, Ore., Anthony and Bryan Curran, of Oakridge, Ore., Cindy Sue and James, of Whitefish, and Summer Ann Parker, of Laughlin, Nev.; and a great grand baby on the way in Oakridge, Ore.

Rebecca was cremated on July 28, 2008, in Montana. A small family-gathering took place at her home in Montana.
