Joseph Eastman

Joseph Henry Eastman, age 80, passed away Nov. 3, 2007, in Puyallup, Wash.

He was born July 15, 1927 in Allentown, Pa., to Joseph Louis and Margaret Eastman.

Joe grew up in Allentown. He joined the military during World War II and served under General Patton with the 359th Infantry regiment, 90th Division, specializing as a rifleman.

During his military career he was awarded the European-African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Silver Star and the World War II Victory Medal.

After an honorable discharge, he worked as a machinist at Fuller Co. for 31 years before moving to Whitefish to pursue a career at Columbia Falls Aluminum Co.

Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mildred; a brother, Art Eastman, of Marietta, Ga.; daughters Linda Knesz, of Kalispell, and Yvette Sword, of Sumner, Wash.; grandchildren Troy and Amanda Knesz and Kastina and Trevor Sword; and great grandchild Skylar.

A celebration of his life will commence in the spring 2008 with announcements at that time. Arrangements are being made by Powers Funeral Home, Puyallup, Wash., 253-863-6332.
