Thanks from WF Growth Policy Committee

The members of the Whitefish Growth Policy Steering Committee would like to publicly thank the Whitefish community, the city of Whitefish and the city planning office for their guidance in the growth policy draft that is now available for public review. The steering committee started meeting in January 2006.

Whitefish planning director Bob Horne facilitated 17 visioning sessions within the Whitefish community and often spent weekends writing and preparing various elements of the growth policy for our review prior to our meetings. His patience, knowledge and guidance with our citizen group was invaluable and most appreciated.

We want to also thank Wendy Compton Ring for her participation and help through this process.

With the rapid growth of Whitefish in recent years, we feel this draft reflects a balance between the desire for future development and the wishes of the community to manage growth and maintain the character and scale of Whitefish.

We appreciate the input and participation we have received from the citizens of Whitefish, and we encourage the community to take time to review the draft and continue to stay involved through the public comment process and follow through with the approval and adoption of the Whitefish Growth Policy.
