Photo exhibit

The Glacier National Park Fund and the Hockaday Museum of Art will be hosting a photography event featuring images of Glacier National Park. Photographers Mike Spence, Doc Walker, Dee Linnell Blank and E.B. Gilliland will display their work as well as speak of their experiences, images and the inspiring backdrop of Glacier National Park. Photo sales will benefit the fund. The talk is March 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hockaday Museum. The event is free and open to all. Please contact Joanne at 406-862-6110 with any questions.

Quilters meet

Teakettle Quilt Guild will meet at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 17 at the Community Center, 235 Nucleus, Columbia Falls. Barb Taylor and Jan Weaver will demonstrate tessellation quilt blocks and provide instructions. Bring your sewing machines and UFOs. New members and guests are welcome.

Chamber meets

The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce meets at noon March 13 at the North Valley Community Building. Guest speaker is Amy Vanderbilt of Glacier National Park speaking on the Sun Highway.

Gold prospectors

The Northwest Montana gold prospectors meet at 2 p.m. March 10 at the North Valley Community Center. Call 892-3722 for more information.

Attic sale

The Northwest Montana Food Pantry is having its fourth annual attic sale to support locals veterans and families from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 17 at the Flathead County Fairground. There will be many items for sale. Proceeds benefit the Northwest Montana Veterans Food Pantry. Call 756-7304 to get involved.

Open burning

Open burning season started March 1 and runs through April 30, but burners must call the daily hotline at 751-8144 for restrictions.

ALERT fundraiser

The annual ALERT helicopter fundraiser is April 28 at the Majestic Valley Arena. Tickets are $300 per couple and available locally by calling Tom Ray at 892-6238.

Creston auction

The 42nd annual Creston Auction is March 31 and April 1 in Creston to benefit the Creston Fire Department. For more information on the auction call 261-5913. Merchandise is accepted from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 30.

Grad meeting

A meeting to plan the 2007 Columbia Falls graduation party is at 7 p.m. March 12 at the high school cafeteria. Parents and seniors are encouraged to attend. Call 892-2354 for more information.
