Quilters meet

The Columbia Falls Teakettle Quilt Guild's meets at 10 a.m. June 16 in the Community Center on Nucleus Avenue. They will be sewing an optical illusion block so bring your sewing machine and iron. New members and guests are welcome.

Birder trip

Flathead Audubon welcomes everyone on a birding field trip along the Tally Lake Road on Sunday, June 17.

Participants meet at the Fish, Wildlife and Parks building at 490 N. Meridian Road in Kalispell at 6 a.m. and return by 1 p.m. Bring binoculars or scope and lunch. Call Leslie Kehoe evenings at 837-4467 to sign up for the trip and for more information.

Auction

The annual Wildcat Athletic Endowment Association auction and barbecue is Friday, July 27 behind the Columbia Bar in downtown Columbia Falls from 5-8 p.m., coinciding with the annual Columbia Falls Heritage Days celebration.

Golf

The annual Wildcat Athletic Endowment Association golf scramble is July 29 at the Glacier View Golf Course, West Glacier, and begin at 9 a.m. Register early to reserve your team space. Reading program

As part of the Flathead County Library summer reading program, actors from the Alpine Theater Project will read and sing at 2 p.m. June 16 at the Columbia Falls City Library. Young readers and old alike are encouraged to attend.

Crimestoppers

Police are looking for tips on someone who drove a pickup truck June 5 between 11 p.m. and midnight onto the 14th green at Meadow Lake Golf Course and spun the tires, causing several thousand in damage to the course. All tips are anonymous and qualify up to a $1,000 reward. Call 752-8477.

Water aerobics

There are water aerobics at the city pool Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. June 19 through Aug. 21. Cost is $50 for in-city, $60 out of city. Instructor is Connie McCubbins.
