Pooled talent equals magic

On behalf of the Alpine Theatre Project, I would like to thank the multitudes of people who came out this weekend to enjoy our collaboration with the Glacier Symphony and Chorale in presenting "The Sound of Music."

This was an historic project for both organizations and the Flathead Valley — truly the first of its kind here. To see it received so enthusiastically proves that when arts organizations pool their individual talents, magic can be created.

We would like to thank the Glacier Symphony and Chorale for embracing the idea wholeheartedly. We are thrilled to have begun such a great relationship with maestro John Zoltek and executive director Alan Saterlee.

We would also like to thank our sponsors, McGarvey, Heberling, Sullivan and McGarvey and Mann Mortgage for providing the needed resources to undertake this project.

We'd like to thank North Valley Music School, Whitefish Theatre Co., Flathead High School, Mike Pesavento and Kalispell Grand Hotel for providing equipment and services needed.

We would also like to thank all the actors, singers and instrumentalists who came from all over the valley, state and country, donating their time and talent to this great production.

And lastly, we would like to thank the Flathead Valley community for coming out and supporting the Alpine Theatre Project and Glacier Symphony and Chorale. We are your arts companies, and when the arts thrive, everybody wins.
