Habitat house

Habitat for Humanity will hold a house dedication ceremony Sunday at 2 p.m. at Fourth Street East in Columbia Falls for Stacy Robinson. Refreshments will be served.

Fishing derby

Winners of the Lion Lake Canyon Kids Christmas Fund Fishing Derby Feb. 24 were: Trout division: Lon Farley, Kolten Marksbury, Jeanett Mundel. Perch: Jerry Quin, John Mager (tie), Amy Carpenter. There were 121 contestants and Santa Claus even made a surprise visit.

Cordier, Weinberg

State Sen. Dan Weinberg and House Rep. Doug Cordier will discuss how the current legislative session is going in Helena. This event is 4 p.m. at the conference room of the Whitefish library on March 2.

FEC meeting

The Flathead Electric Cooperative annual meeting is March 10 at the Columbia Falls High School. There will be a drawing for a 1996 Dodge pickup. Meeting starts at 8:30, with a short business meeting at 10 a.m.

Sun Road update

Glacier Park Superintendent Mick Holm will give a talk about damage to the Going-to-the-Sun Road and efforts to fix it March 2 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Glacier Bank in Whitefish. The presentation starts at 6 p.m.

Chamber meets

The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce meets from noon to 1 p.m. March 13 at the North Valley Community Building. The meeting will take a sneak peek at the new shuttle bus that will be in use in Glacier National Park this summer. Glacier Park's Amy Vanderbilt will be the guest speaker.

Dean's list

Cassandra Hollopeter of Columbia Falls, was recently named on the Dean's List for the fall 2006 semester at Crown College in St. Bonifacius, Minn. Hollopeter, a graduate of Columbia Falls High School, is a freshmen at Crown and is majoring in Secondary Math Education. She is the daughter of Pasty Roberts.

Prayer Day

World Day of Prayer takes place Friday, March 1, at the Klothes Kloset's quilt room. Observance begins at 1:30 p.m. Those attending are requested to bring items for Columbia Falls Food Pantry.

Eastern Star

Vista Chapter No. 44, O.E.S. meets Monday, March 5, 7:30 p.m., at Columbia Falls Masonic Temple. There will be initiation. Deloris House is worthy matron and Gary Sparr, worthy patron. Refreshments will be served by Amy and Curtis Peterson.
