Appalled by Big Mountain graffiti

| August 9, 2007 11:00 PM

As a local of Whitefish, I must admit that lately I have not been proud to be one.

There are many changes occurring in our town that Bill Foley has primarily been responsible for. In light of these changes, I am appalled by all the comments, articles, graffiti and merchandise that are used to insult Mr. Foley, his family and his business.

Whether we like it or not, Whitefish is a developing and changing community and will continue to do so. We ought to appreciate and accept these changes and continue to be proud of our beautiful small town.

Despite Mr. Foley owning a few restaurants, the food still tastes the same, and whether it is called Big Mountain Resort or Whitefish Mountain Resort, the skiing will never change. If we have a true love for skiing, then the name of our resort should not be an issue.

As a town, we should thank Mr. Foley for his significant donations and helping to develop Whitefish in our changing world. We ought to be above putting these positive changes in a negative light.
