Susan Green

Susan M. Green, 55, died July 23, 2007, in her sleep at the home of her parents in Whitefish.

Susan was born Nov. 28, 1951, in Fargo, N.D., to Donald and Inez Carlson. The family moved to Rudyard in 1955 and later to Whitefish in 1962. Susan graduated from Whitefish High School in 1970. She married George Green in 1972, and they later divorced.

She worked for a brief time as a dental assistant and then as a crew caller for the BNSF Railway. She moved to Havre in 1988 and transferred with BNSF to Topeka, Kan., in 1997.

Susan returned to Whitefish in 2002 where she remained until the time of her death. She made many friends wherever she went, with her friendly smile and pleasing personality.

Survivors include her parents, Don and Inez Carlson, in Whitefish; a daughter, Stephanie Ford and husband Shane, in Havre; a brother, Steven Carlson and his wife Suellen, of Whitefish; five grandchildren; and two nephews.

Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of the Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish. Private family memorial services are pending.
