Lawrence "Larry" E. Hart

Former resident Lawrence "Larry" E. Hart, 77, passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006 at his home in Grants Pass, Ore.

Larry was born on March 29, 1929 in Eureka, Montana. He graduated from Polson High School in 1947. On May 31, 1947 he married Margiebel Taylor in Polson, Montana. He worked for the Montana Highway Department on Marias Pass, Montana and section man at Lakeside, Montana for 18 years. Larry then sold insurance for 2 years and then went to work for Bell Manufacturing. In 1971 they moved to Grants Pass as general manager of Caveman Campers. In 1978 he bought Caveman Campers with his business partner Herb Mousau. They closed the plant in 1983 and moved back to Montana and then to Richmond, Virginia for 8 years. Larry retired in 1992 and returned to Grants Pass in 1995.

Larry was a member of Masonic Lodge #150, Big Fork, MT, Scottish Rite, Missoula, MT, Hillah Shrine, Medford, OR, Western Star #64, School Board Member and Volunteer Fireman in the 1960's in Montana, and Director of the Grants Pass Golf Club 1977-1981.

Larry enjoyed woodworking in his shop, golfing, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

Wife, Margibel Hart of Grants Pass; Son, Dennis (Monica) Hart of Graham, N. Carolina; Daughter, Candis (Clyde) Stearns of Mukilteo, WA; 2 Granddaughters, Brittany (Tory) Johnson of Kalispell, MT and Brooke Stearns of Venice, California; Great-Grandchildren, Mackenzie, Easton, Madison & Kennedy Johnson of Kalispell, MT; Two Sisters, Betty Erickson of Polson, MT and Dorothy Hass of Toledo, OH; Brother, Don Wehr of Cloquet, MN. and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
