She was born Feb. 24, 1940, in Crosby, N.D., to James and Ida (Gudvangen) Moore. James and Ida moved to Denver when Darlene was a baby, where they stayed for about a year and one-half. They moved back to North Dakota where four of her five brothers were born. The family then moved to Kalispell, where the rest of the family was born and raised. Darlene lived in Boulder for a period of time before moving back home with her family.

In 1974, she went to work for Flathead Industries. She worked there until she retired in February of 2004. Darlene so enjoyed working there and it was a very important part of her life. In fact, she would get very annoyed if she couldn't go to work every day.

She is survived by her mother, Ida Moore, of Kalispell; sisters Althea Mae Moore, of Columbia Falls, Sadie Stowell and husband Bob, of Dallas, Betty Bertelsen and husband Roger, of Lakeside, Myrna Wade and husband Mike, of Whitefish, and Pearl Carstens and husband Tom, of Grafton, Va.; brothers Lyle and wife Elaine, of Kalispell, Leland and wife Darlene, of Somers, Ordean, of Columbia Falls, Donald and wife Frankie, of Kalispell, and Jerome and wife Debbie, of Kalispell. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
