Whitefish grapplers face-off against Eureka

Whitefish Bulldog wrestlers pinned Eureka grapplers in four different matches to win a dual in Eureka on Tuesday night, 48-33.

Whitefish senior Kevin Kaltschmidt pinned Eureka's Randy Kirkedahl in the 125-pound match. Whitefish junior Cody Morris, wrestling at 135 pounds, pinned Eureka's Tim Olson.

Whitefish sophomore Kaleb Prestegaard, 140 pounds pinned Taylor Brown, and Bulldog Randy Martin, 171 pounds, pinned Andrew Lowe.

Bulldog Dexter Orr, 98 pounds, Jake Beck, 171, and Jake Scheel, 215, all won by forfeit.

In the 145-pound match, Eureka's Cory Greenwood won a decision over Whitefish Matt Starr. Eureka's Nick McMarrell, 152, pinned Whitefish's Dayne Sandelin, and Lions wrestler Kallan Roose, 215, pinned Kevin McDowell.

The Bulldogs host the Libby Greenchain and the Flathead Braves Friday night for one last dual before winter break.

The last time Libby and Whitefish met, Libby edged out Whitefish for the first-place spot at the Class A divisionals last season.

When the Bulldogs took on the Class AA Flathead Braves last season, the Braves defeated the Dogs 58-15.

The Whitefish junior varsity squad wrestles against Libby at 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, followed by the varsity at 3:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs' JV team takes on the Braves at 5:30 p.m. followed by the varsity at 6:30 p.m.
