Ann Emett

Ann J. Emett, 93, passed away Sept. 10, 2005, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home, in Kalispell, of natural causes.

She was born April 7, 1912, in Kolin to Charles and Anna Hodik, the fifth of eight children. She attended schools in Lewistown.

Ann married Archie Desy in November 1931; he preceded her in death on 1947. Ann was head of the fashion department of Montgomery Wards in Lewistown. She moved to Butte in 1950, where she took a clerking position at Burr's Department Store.

Ann married Elden Emett in 1956; he preceded her in death in 1991. Together, they developed and built the Indian Trail Lodge and Cabins at the Gates of the Mountains in Helena. They retired in 1968 and traveled extensively, then chose to winter in Arizona. Ann had a God-given talent for art and fancy work, and she won numerous ribbons for fancy work at the fairs.

She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Pacheco and her husband John, of Whitefish; Betty Ann Simonich, of Whitehall; grandchildren John and Tom Pacheco, of Whitefish, Debbie Lemcke, of Wenatchee, Wash., Donnie Pacheco, of Seattle, Michael Spackman, of Whitehall, and Michelle Perry, of Billings; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and five stepchildren.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Charles Boromeo Catholic Church in Whitefish on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005 (today), at 11 a.m. with Rev. Pat Patton officiating.

Burial will take place at a later date at Mountain View Cemetery in Butte, with Rev. Dan Driscoll officiating.

Ronald DeMotts

Ronald DeMotts died Aug. 27, 2005, in Kennewick, Wash.

Ron was born June 29, 1938, in Bellingham, Wash., the son of Ted and Cleo DeMotts. He attended school in Walla Walla, Wash., and graduated from Whitefish High School in 1957.

Ron was married to Sandra, his best friend for more than 22 years. He became an instant dad when he married Sandra. The kids received a lot of love, help and guidance from him. His family will miss his smiling face forever.

He had a very kind heart and was very compassionate. Everyone loved Ron. He was a friend to all. Ron loved fishing and spending summers at Williams Lake. He made many friends at the lake, whom he looked forward to seeing every summer.

He fought cancer the last year of his life. He became a Christian awhile before he died.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Cleo DeMotts; brothers Roger, Barry and Tim; and sister Carolyn.

Ron is survived by his wife, Sandra; stepchildren Kevin and Brian Firestone and Leonna Mehas; grandchildren Brandon and Jeremy Firestone; sister Jan Freeland; and cousins Rob Robison, Pam Robison and her son Brian.

A memorial service was held Sept. 3.

Patricia Parker

Patricia M. Parker, 69, a longtime Whitefish resident, passed away of natural causes Sept. 7, 2005, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.

She was born June 21, 1936, in Morris, Minn., the daughter of Edwin P. and Cecilia C. Reardon.

She attended the Nursing School of Saint Francis in Breckenridge, Minn., and graduated in 1957. Patricia spent many years as a nurse working in hospitals and nursing homes.

She was an avid reader and member of a local book club. She was active at St. Charles Catholic Church, serving as a lay minister. She volunteered many hours at North Valley Hospital, Colonial Manor nursing home in Whitefish, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, and the Stumptown Historical Society. She loved the outdoors, hiking, skiing and spending time in Glacier National Park.

Patricia was a generous and compassionate wife, mother and friend. She touched the lives of many people.

She is survived by her husband Marvin, at the family home in Whitefish; daughter Karrin; sons John and wife, Nancy, and Michael; sister Dolores; brother Michael; and nieces and nephews and granddaughter Claire.

A Christian Wake Service was held Sept. 11, 2005, at the St. Charles Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass of the Christian Burial was held Sept. 12, 2005, at the St. Charles Boromeo Catholic Church in Whitefish, with Rev. Pat Patton celebrant.
