Georgia Gawe

Georgia A. (Schrlau) Gawe, 63, of Clifton Park, N.Y., died peacefully with her family by her side Oct. 9, 2005.

She was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on Dec. 30, 1941, the daughter of Marie Hildebrandt Theall and George Schrlau, and step daughter of Duane Theall. Georgia was a graduate of Hawley High School, in Pennsylvania, and she attended Barrington College, in Rhode Island.

She married the love of her life, David C. Gawe, on June 27, 1964.

As a nurturing and giving person, she was the wonderful mother of Carrie Lynne Newhart and husband Dale, of Clifton Park, and David C. Gawe, Jr. and wife Mindi, of Whitefish. She was the caring grandmother of Rachael Lynne Newhart and Christian David Newhart. Her mother, Marie Theall, resides at Susquehanna Nursing Home in Johnson City, N.Y. Her sister, Nancy (Schrlau) Baker, of Port Crane, N.Y., also survives, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Georgia's life will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005, at 7 pm at Temple Baptist Church in Halfmoon, N.Y., with the Rev. Duke Hergatt officiating.
