The state champion Columbia Falls boys soccer team handed out team awards this week.

Seniors Cory Pete and Lee Kizer shared the Most Valuable Player award, while Andrew Dahlen and Keith Appleton took home Most Improved.

Guy Smith won the Golden Boot and Alex Branch and Bobby Opp shared the Spirit of Competition award.

Dustin Gibson was presented the Guy Houston award while Jake Bengtson won the Josh Robinson award.

The football team also announced team awards, with Josh Wilson winning offensive MVP and Greg Macijunas taking home the defensive MVP.

Keith Katt won the Ray Johnsrud memorial award, while Kevin Boyer took home the Jim Sapa memorial award.

Daniel Byrd took home the coaches award.

Byrd, Boyer, Wilson, Chase Fairbank, Jared Jimmerson, Steve Brennan, Matt Busick, Jordan Thompson, Michael Piper and Michael Hader were all named Academic All-State.

The Cross Country MVPs were given to Brian Merseal and Addie Houle.

Tripp Gimbel picked up the Most Promising Award for the boys while Houle also received the Most Improved for the girls.

Nikki Elek took home the Most Promising Award for the girls.
