Hunting on the lake

The recent editorial cartoon in Pilot was a tasteless slam on the sportsmen of the Flathead Valley.

I'm not a hunter but many of my friends are, and they are some of the most conservation-minded, environmentally conscientious people I know.

Your depiction of hunters seated in a boat blasting away is a poor example for kids and adults of what hunting and firearm safety are all about.

If the city puts the skids on drinking and hunting on Whitefish Lake, whatever, but don't stereotype the sportsman, whom to many hunting is a way of life.
