Protecting the lake

A big thank you to the planning board for taking the time to get input from the community and address our concerns regarding the request for the huge development in the wetlands bordering Wisconsin Ave.

Whitefish Lake is fed by the drainage from these wetlands. Everyone who swims, water skis, boats or walks the shore, and has enjoyed the serenity and scenery of one of nature's jewels, needs Whitefish Lake to remain clean and beautiful.

Please don't decide for this project in favor of a few developers who stand to make huge profits from the development of these wetlands. Rather, make a decision for every person who lives or visits here — for every person who enjoys the wetlands and lake and drinks our water.

Please protect the lake and the fragile areas around it. Help save our beautiful lake and stop the proposal for the development of these wetlands.

In humble appreciation to the people on the planning board and city council who work to preserve our beloved town and surroundings for the good of every one, I thank you.
