Ski club to hold fund-raising sale this weekend

| November 3, 2005 10:00 PM

Big Mountain Ski Club's annual ski sale will take place Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Whitefish Armory.

Items for sale should be brought to the Armory on Friday, Nov. 4, from 1 p.m. - 9 p.m. Organizers will accept any and all good used-sporting equipment, from canoes to snowshoes.

Ski boots must have DIN imprinted on the bottom or they cannot be sold. Outdated skis and bindings will not be accepted either, as the ski shops cannot guarantee their safety. Do not bring dirty, ripped or rag-quality used clothing. Qualified technicians will be on hand to assist and identify equipment.

Ski Club memberships will be sold on Friday and Saturday. However, only those who buy a membership on Friday will be entitled to the member commission on items sold (the club keeps 10 percent commission on members' items, 25 percent for non-club members).

Memberships are $15 single, $20 couple and $25 family. Members receive free instruction for their children with a family membership through the Big Mountain Ski Club's learn-to-ski program.

The club will also be signing up kids for ski lessons on Saturday. Lessons will take place on Saturdays beginning Jan. 7 through March 11.

The Big Mountain Ski Resort will also be on hand to take ID pictures and sell passes.

Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. Saturday for Ski Club members and 9 a.m. for the general public. The sale ends at 4 p.m.

Unsold items need to be picked up from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday. Those items not picked up at that time become the property of the Ski Club.
