Daffodil Days

The American Cancer Society's annual fund-raiser, Daffodil Days, has just concluded in Whitefish and it was a big success. This year, our volunteers raised over $7,200 for the fight against cancer by selling bouquets of daffodils.

The money we raise in this effort largely stays in our community and in Montana. It funds such things as education to prevent cancer and detect cancer early, services for cancer patients, survivors and families, and nationally, research and advocacy in the fight against this terrible disease. Because Daffodil Days is a volunteer-driven effort, about 92 percent of every dollar we raise goes directly to the fight against cancer!

As chairwoman of the local Daffodil Days campaign, I want to congratulate all 45 volunteers who helped make this year's Whitefish campaign a success. And I want to thank all the individuals and businesses who bought daffodils: Your contributions are so greatly appreciated.

Our fantastic success in this campaign is a reflection of Whitefish's community spirit: It is a spirit we can all be proud of.
