Parking space

Little white lines can make a big, big differance—especially when trying to park in downtown Bigfork.

During the busy summer months in the village, parking becomes premium. Each space is coveted by visitor and local alike, especially during Bigfork Summer Playhouse show times.

Thanks to the Bigfork Chamber of Commerce and the Community Foundation for a Better Bigfork (formerly known as the Bigfork Development Company), those precious parking places are now clearly marked.

Downtown business owners who are chosing to park offsite are also making those spaces available to the public at large. When there is parking in town, everyone's needs are served.

Also thanks to Russ Kinzer and the Bigfork School District, additional summer parking is available in the elementary and high school lots. With the Fourth of July celebration just around the corner, these spots are invaluable.

According to chamber president Donna Lawson, parking has become her main project. Lawson hopes to add another 24 spaces close to downtown Bigfork in the future.

Even with all the changes happening to our little village, there is still a fantastic seasonal draw. Downtown is still charming, the theater is still amazing, the restaurants are still impeccable, the galleries are still diverse, and the shops are still alluring.

These are the entities that make the village unique. Access to said businesses is so very important June through September, and parking spaces provide that access. So, a big "Way to go!" to those who make parking in Bigfork a little easier.
