Nine to go into Hall of Fame

Columbia Falls High School inducted nine student athletes into the sports hall of fame this year as recognition for their contributions in sports across the board.

Dani Herman played volleyball and basketball in her career and received a number of awards. She was named first team All-Conference and team Most Valuable Player in volleyball in 2004 and was also a co-captain. She was a two year letter winner and the junior varsity MVP in 2002.

She received the Coaches Award for basketball in 2005 while also serving as co-captain. She was a two year letter winner and an Academic All-State student.

Herman was also presented with the 2005 Dumay Award, the top honor for student athletes at the school.

Jace Ladenburg was a three sport athlete, winning letters in football, basketball and track. He was an All-Conference tight end and linebacker in football in 2004 and was also named to the All-State team. He made All-Conference as an offensive lineman and linebacker in 2002, was a two year co-captain, a four year letter winner and was named the defensive MVP in 2004.

As a two year letter winner in basketball, he also won the 2005 Team Hustle Award.

His track performances were also notable, as he was named All-State in the discus in 2005, and also made the All-Conference team in shot put and discus. In addition, he was a seven time Academic All-State student.

Anthony Minson helped the boys basketball team to the Class A State Championship and was named the 2005 State Tournament MVP. He made second team All-Conference in 2005 and also made the first team All-Tournament team.

As the team's leading scorer and rebounder in 2005, he was named team MVP as well as defensive MVP. He was a member of the 2003 and 2005 state championship teams, won the 2004 Coaches Award, the 2003 junior varsity MVP award and the 2002 Frosh Defensive Leader Award. He won three letters in his career.

Drew Perry was also a three sport athlete, winning letters in football, basketball and track. He was an All-State defensive back and wide receiver in 2004 and was named first team All-Conference for both positions. He was selected to the East-West Shrine game, won the 2005 Coaches Award and also was an All-State and All-Conference performer in 2003 at both positions.

In basketball, Perry was All-State and All-Conference in 2005, was the team MVP and three point percentage leader. He was named to the second team All-Tournament Team in 2005, was All-Conference second team in 2004 and also won the team MVP award and was the leading scorer. He was also a member of the 2003 and 2005 State Championship teams.

Perry also was an All-State and All-Conference triple jumper in 2004 and won a 2005 United States Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete award.

Devin Schmit, a record breaking 800 meter sprinter, was the 2005 State Champion in the event and also holds the conference and school records. He was an All-State performer in 2005, 2004 and 2003 and was All-Conference all four years of his career.

He was the team's leading scorer in 2004 and was a four year letter winner. He also made the 2003 All-Conference cross country team and finished fifth in the 2003 divisionals.

Kyle Rosenbaum also excelled in three sports, lettering in football, basketball and track. He was a 2004 All-State running back and defensive back, also being named to the first team All-Conference team. He won the 2004 Sapa Award and was selected to the East-West Shrine game. He was a first team All-Conference running back in 2003 and was a second team defensive back in 2002.

In basketball, he was a member of the 2003 State Championship team.

He holds the school record in the triple jump and was All-Conference and All-State in the triple jump and long jump in 2005, was the state champion in the triple jump in 2004 and made the All-State and All-Conference team in both events in 2003 and 2004.

Bekah Stoltz was a two sport letter winner for her accomplishments in track and basketball. She was the 2004 and 2005 State Champion in discus and the 2005 champion in javelin. She made All-State in the shot put in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and was All-State in the javelin in 2005 and the discus in 2004 and 2005. She made the All-Conference teams in shot put and discus in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and javelin in 2004 and 2005.

In basketball, Stoltz was an All-State and All-Conference selection in 2004 and the team offensive MVP. She won letters in three consecutive years in both sports.

Cassie Stoneman was a two sport standout and won letters in soccer and track all four years of her career. In soccer, she was an All-State selection in 2004, All-Conference in 2003 and 2004 and the defensive MVP both years.

She was the State Champion in the triple jump in 2005 and was an All-State long jumper in 2003 and 2005 and was All-State in the triple jump 2003, 2004 and 2005. She was All-Conference in the triple jump those three years and also made All-Conference in the long jump in 2002, 2003 and 2005. This year, she also was All-Conference in the 100 meter hurdles. She was honored with the Coaches Award two different times.

Aric Tarr was a repeat State Champion in wrestling, winning in 2003 and 2004, finishing second in 2005. He was undefeated in 2003 and 2004 and had an overall record of 106-14 and was All-State all four years of his career. He was the conference champion in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and was All-Conference all four years. He won the Dan Buzzel Award this year and was a two-time Rocky Mountain Classic champion.

He also excelled in cross country, winning team MVP in 2003 and 2005, collecting letters each year and being selected to the All-Conference team this season.
