Heritage Days

Public is invited to Saturday Heritage Day luncheon at North Valley Senior Center. Serving begins at 11 a.m. with sandwiches, dessert, beverage. Roxy Larsen is Center manager.

Horseshoe tourney

The North Valley Eagles will have a horseshoe tournament and hamburger/hot dog barbecue at 4 p.m. at the club Saturday. At 8 p.m. there will be music by the Moran Sisters. The public is welcome to the event.

Great spinner

Sarah Anderson of Columbia Falls recently took first place in the two-ply wool/wool blend novice division and reserve champion for the shein of wool she handspun in the Big Sky Fiber Arts Festival in Hamilton.

50th anniversary

Friends and family are invited to celebrate with Ralph and Joanne Johnson at their 50th anniversary at the LDS Church in Columbia Falls from 7 to 9 p.m. July 29. No gifts please.

Benefit fund-raiser

A benefit and fund-raiser for Alysha Cantu will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Sportsman Club. Cantu is an 8-year-old Columbia Falls girl who needs brain surgery to alleviate her seizures.

There will be a silent auction, a pig roast and a horseshoe tournament. Cost is $8 per plate for adults and $4 per plate for children.

Coaching clinic

Coaches involved in the Columbia Falls and Whitefish youth soccer program are encouraged to attend a free coaching clinic Saturday, Aug. 13 from 9 to noon at Smith Fields in Whitefish. Referees are also needed for the league. Call Rachel Potter at 892-2446 if you have any questions.

North Fork talk

Darris Flanagan will talk about the Kootenai Indian Trail at 7:30 p.m. July 30 at Sondreson Hall. Talk is hosted by the North Fork Preservation Association. Flanagan is the author of "Indian Trails of the Northern Rockies." Prior to the talk there will be a potluck dinner at 5:30 p.m. and the election of board members and officers. Everyone is invited. Free music

Stacey Board will be at the Belton Chalet Tap Room at 8 p.m. July 29. Sara Softich will play at 8 p.m. July 31. There is no cover charge for either performance.

Toastmasters meets

The next Columbia Falls Toastmasters meeting is Aug.1 from noon to 12 p.m. in the City Hall council chambers.
