Robert Wilson

Robert O. "Bob" Wilson, 80, passed away Nov. 23, 2005, at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell.

He was born June 4, 1925, in Evergreen to Robert Sam and Rosa (O'Claire) Wilson. Bob was born in the same home where his mother was raised. He went to school in various schools in the Flathead Valley.

Bob went to work for American Timber Co, at an early age. He then enlisted in the CBs in 1944 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1945, serving until his honorable discharge in 1954.

When he returned to Kalispell, he went back to work for American Timber Co., where he retired after 20 years. After retiring, Bob started a new career with the Flathead County Road Department, where he worked until 1986, when he retired after 20 years there.

He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. Bob loved the Flathead Valley and enjoyed all the community had to offer.

He married Marjory Kirkley in 1950. They had one son, Robert David Wilson. Bob later married Ruth Holombo in 1984. She had a son, William Holombo.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and two sisters, Helen Ruggles and Rosemary Wollan.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Wilson, of Kalispell; son David Wilson, of Missoula; stepson William Holombo and wife Wilma, of Auburn, Wash.; one grandchild; four step grandchildren; sisters Shirley Kirkland and husband Archie, and Betty Stockwell and husband Howard, both of Kalispell.

Memorial services for Robert O. Wilson were held Tuesday at Calvary Lutheran Church. Condolences may be sent to 185 Crestline Ave., Kalispell MT 59901.
