Christmas dinner

The annual Christmas at Our House Dinner is at the National Guard Armory Saturday, Dec. 17, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Armory is located at 2989 Highway 93 North, Kalispell one mile north of West Reserve. It is the first public event at the new facility. A free Christmas turkey and ham dinner with all of the trimmings will be served. Santa Claus makes an appearance from 1 until 3 p.m. with gifts for children. Surplus military winter clothing will be available to those who need it.

Gold Prospectors

The Northwest Montana Gold Prospectors have their Christmas meeting Dec. 10 at noon with potluck dinner and under $10 gift exchange at North Valley Community Center in Columbia Falls. For more information call 892-3722.

Rehab moves

Orthopedic Rehab Inc. is moving to its new location Dec. 12 at the former Melby's Home Interior building.

Church Tea

The North Valley Baptist Church is having a tea and silent auction at 1 p.m. Dec. 10 at the church. Nursery is available. For reservations, call 892-3141.

Open House

There will be a scrapbooking open house at 300 South Hilltop, Dec. 8, 9 and 10. There will be gifts, products and drawings for stopping by. Christine Bowman is host. Hours are 10-7, Dec. 8, 10-9, Dec. 9 and 9-5, Dec. 10.

Women's Connection

The Columbia Falls Women's Connection meets Dec. 14 at 9:30 a.m. at Los Caporales here. Cost is $7. The Christmas program includes a program by Grandma Betty's Scrapbook Store and speaker Karen Spaulding. Call 387-4119 for reservations or more information.

Bird counts

The Flathead Audubon Society will have its annual Bigfork and Kalispell and Glacier Park Christmas bird counts. The Bigfork count is Dec. 17. The Kalispell Christmas bird count is Sunday, Jan. 1. To participate call Dan Casey at 857-3143 (evenings) or 756-2681 (days) and/or attend the Flathead Audubon meeting on Monday, December 12, at 7 p.m. at The Summit, 205 Sunnyvale Lane, Kalispell. The fee is $5 per adult participant. To sign up for the Glacier count, call Susan Sindt at 892-7406.

Student of the week

Sam Scherman, a freshman at Columbia Falls High School, has been selected student of the week for Dec. 5. He was nominated because of his outstanding work ethic, good sense of humor and his caring attitude towards others. Sam is the son of George and Kate Scherman of Columbia Falls and receives a personal pan pizza compliment of Pizza Hut.

Chamber meets

The annual Chamber of Commerce Christmas luncheon is Dec. 13 at the North Valley Community Room. Lunch starts at 11:45 a.m.
