Internationally acclaimed photographer Tom Ulrich will present a slide show of his photographs of wildlife from around the world on May 3 at 7 p.m. at the Outlaw Inn and May 5 at 7 p.m. at Grouse Mountain Lodge. Admission is $5 per person. Proceeds benefit the youths of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flathead County. Call 752-0092 for more information.

Senior fund-raiser

Soup, sandwich, dessert and coffee is served for $4 as a fund raiser at North Valley Senior Center Friday, April 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend. Cards will be played after supper. Roxy Larsen, manager, can be contacted for details.

Student of the week

Daniel Pickar, a senior at Columbia Falls High School, is student of the week of April 18. He was nominated because he is a great young man and a very talented artist. Daniel works very hard while in class and is always pleasant to his classmates and respectful to his instructor. He represents his class well. Daniel is the son of John and Melanie Pickar, of Columbia Falls, and he receives a personal pan pizza compliment of Pizza Hut.

Swim team

The swim team will have its sign-ups May 1 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the North Valley Community Center. Call Ron Newton at 387-5024 or Cindi Woods at 387-5648. Season runs from June 1 to July 31.

Dean's list

Stephanie Marron, of Columbia Falls, made the dean's list for winter 2004 at Pacific Lutheran University in Seattle.

Mountain madness

The annual Mountain Madness Motocross race is April 24 at the Hungry Horse track. Registration is 6 to 9 p.m. April 23 and 6:30 to 8 a.m. Sunday morning. Fees range from $30 to $20. Gate admission is $7. Children under 12 with parent are free. Event benefits Columbia Falls Kiwanis Club. Call 892-7283 for more information.

Deer Park fund-raiser

Deer Park is holding a rummage sale fund-raiser for its new playground equipment. The school is accepting donations from April 18 to April 21, and the sale is Friday, April 22, from 9 to 4 p.m. and Saturday, April 23, from 9 to 1 p.m. at the school.

Lewis and Clark

Glacier Gateway fourth-graders will present the musical Lewis and Clark at 1:30 p.m. April 29 in the Little Theater with a reception to follow. The student program will take place at 10 a.m. the same day, same place.

Golf team

A junior golf team is forming in Columbia Falls. Practices will be on Saturday afternoons, starting May 7. The team will be limited to 10 Columbia Falls boys, ages 10 to 13. Parents are encouraged to participate. If interested, call Ron Platke at 892-8018.
