Many thanks

| October 6, 2004 11:00 PM

Sometimes in a lifetime we can never repay someone for his or her kindness. In this case the community of Creston and Mountain Brook and those in the Creston Fire District can say thank you and help the Paul Lambert Family. It was Paul and Loretta Lambert that donated land so the community could build the Creston Fire House on Foothill Road. To all of us that is worth millions so we can have fire and emergency protection. All we could say at that time was thank you.

Now is our turn to help and give an official thank you. Paul Lambert passed away suddenly at Helena Flats School where he worked. He was Loretta's soul mate and the family bread winner. Loretta is disabled and lives with the support of oxygen. She really needs help with medical as well as funeral expenses etc. The friends of the Paul Lambert family with the assistance of the Creston Firefighters Association under the director of Chief Gary Mahugh are organizing a Fund-raiser for October 9, 4-7 p.m. at Cayuse Prairie School. A Pancake Supper will be served from 4-6 p.m. with an auction beginning at 6 p.m. Throughout the evening will be a series of live entertainers and a baked sale. The auctioned items will be goods and services so everyone can participate no matter their income. This will be a celebration of Paul's life.

We ask you to help us with a contribution that can be money, donated items or services and by attending the event. You'll go home happy having made new friends and having purchased some great things. Thank you so much for your assistance. Should you need more information please call 837-6338, Mobile 249-5184 or me. Our committee members are Vickie, Gini, Sheila, Arlene, Ken, John, Creston Firefighters Association and too many wonderful neighbors to mention now. So come and meet these folks personally and join us for a night to remember.

Sincerely,

Dorothy H. Maitland CTP

A clear win

I was disappointed to hear the same stale phrases repeated over and over by Bush. I felt Kerry was very clear and honest, and was impressed by the way he expressed himself. The fact that he brought up Osama Bin Laden was important because Bush has been obviously avoiding it. I certainly felt that Bush was often off point and evasive. This night was a clear winner for Kerry.

Sincerely,
