Jay Rowe

Jay Lyle Rowe, age 71, passed away on Oct. 2, 2004, at his home in Columbia Falls.

Hay was born on July 10, 1933, in Sidney to Lyle and Frances (Daniels) Rowe. He attended schools in the Sidney area before moving to the Flathead Valley in 1946, where he graduated from Flathead High School.

Jay enlisted in the Navy in 1951 and was discharged in 1954. He worked for the aluminum plant in Columbia Falls for 30 years, having worked for all three of the owners of the plant.

He loved doing woodcrafts, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the VFW, and the American Legion. Jay loved helping people and had assisted many different people with lots of different things. He was always willing to give a helping hand.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents, his son Curtis J. Rowe, and a nephew.

He is survived by his son Cecil J. Rowe and his daughter Vickie Jackson, of Columbia Falls; a brother, John E. Rowe, of Kalispell; a sister Marge Spilis and her husband, Chuck, of Crystal Lake; grandchildren Cody Sterna and Kally, of Missoula, and Ed Rowe, of Kalispell; great grandchildren, Anton and Brooke Rowe; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside urn burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls.

Jay got to live his final days at home with the wonderful help of Home Options Hospice. Memorials to Home Options Hospice would be appreciated.
