Wants more weapons

To the editor,

We don't need John F. Kerry as a president. He voted against just about every major weapon that America used to win against the Soviet Union and against any issue that is being used to help the American military against the terror.

Kerry voted against the Peace Keeper Missile, the B-1 and B-2 bombers, the Trident submarine and the D 5 Missile. He was also against our nuclear program at a critical time, when the Soviet Union was most formidable.

Kerry also opposed basing U.S. cruise missiles in Europe and was in favor of cutting back on our military budget by $3 billion in 1995. He voted to freeze defense spending for seven years, but was voted down.

In 1996, he introduced a bill to cut defense spending by $6.5 billion, but he had no backing so it didn't come to a floor vote. He didn't seem to have any backing in the U.S. Congress, so I don't see how he even won in the primaries.

If John Kerry wins, he's either an awful big "liar," or he's going to be busier than "hell."
