Despite a loss to the rival Wildkats early in the week, the Lady Dogs finished strong with an 8-0 blowout over Bigfork on Thursday.

Seven different players scored for Whitefish in the win, with Taylor Gentry scoring two.

Josie Schneider got things started with a goal five minutes in, assisted by Grace Benkelman.

Then Gentry found the net in the 30th and 36th minute to put the Lady Dogs up 3-0 going into halftime.

A goal from Josephine Brown in the 47th minute got the scoring going again in the second half, followed by scores by Emma Barron, Anna Cook and Sophi Olso in the 55th, 58th and 59th minutes. Sofie Saurey put the finishing touches on the match with a goal in the 77th minute, assisted by Josephine Brown.

Whitefish amassed a staggering 37 shots on goal, while Bigfork never attacked Lady Dog keeper Sami Galbraith, totaling zero shots on goal.

It was a good bounceback for the team after falling 3-0 to Columbia Falls on Tuesday.

Wildkat Josie Windauer notched a hat trick in that match, scoring in the 15th, 31st and 64th minutes.

Galbraith had 13 saves on 16 shots on goal for Whitefish.

This week the team will wrap up the regular season with a road battle against Polson on Thursday at 7 p.m. and a 10 a.m. match at Libby on Saturday.
