Voters approve $100,000 levy for Whitefish High School
Whitefish voters approved a $100,000 levy for Whitefish High School general fund operations on May 6.
Preliminary election results show 2,371 (59%) voted for and 1,638 (41%) voted against.
The levy will result in a tax increase of $0.86 per year for every $100,000 of a home's tax assessed value.
The funding will help offset the rising cost of consumables, repairs and maintenance, utilities, equipment rental, audit services, curriculum, professional development, compensation, and other expenses, according to the Whitefish School District.
There was no Whitefish School Board trustee election, as incumbents Elizabeth Pitman and Darcy Schellinger were voted in by acclamation for additional three-year terms.
In Kalispell, voters in School District 5 approved a $2.97 million levy request on Tuesday, snapping an 18-year streak of rejecting high school district levies.
Preliminary school and special district election results for May 6, 2025. Preliminary results are unofficial until each respective school board and special district canvases them.
